Bookmakers scrambled to reprice the Copenhagen Major outright market on Wednesday night after FaZe dismantled the tournament favourites 2–0 in the quarterfinals, a result most books had priced at +320.
Pre-match, the defending champions were as short as 1.28 to take the series. By map two’s pistol round the live line had flipped entirely, and FaZe closed out Nuke 13–6 behind a 1.42-rated performance from their AWPer.
The knock-on effects across the outright market were immediate. FaZe shortened from 9.00 to 4.50 to lift the trophy, while the eliminated favourites’ backers saw the largest single-match liability swing of the tournament so far. Several books also trimmed the two remaining EU semifinalists on the theory that the bracket has opened up.
For bettors, the lesson is the same one this column repeats every Major: quarterfinal upsets are where outright value dies. If you fancied FaZe at 9.00, the time to act was before the bracket locked — chasing them at 4.50 now means paying for Wednesday’s highlight reel.
